Award & Trust Seal Design: Badge system that's collectible, credible, and flexible enough to live anywhere from a website footer to a printed box.

Purpose:
Building Loyalty Through Community
Homeschool.com's long-standing reputation made its badges a highly desirable status symbol within the industry. Trusted for curriculum, resources, and advice, the brand offered recognition that was valued by everyone from established organizations to small, home-grown businesses created by homeschooling parents.
Initially, the accreditation marks were fairly generic. When I joined, I was asked to develop them into more distinctive, branded, polished designs. As the platform grew, so did its awards programme, expanding beyond a single Homeschool.com badge to include curriculum reviews, seasonal awards and multiple annual events over more than 10 years.
Process:
Each badge needed to feel unique to its category and year, while remaining recognisably part of the same family. The challenge was to create visual variation without losing the trust and familiarity that made the badges so sought after.

Proof:
Recipients used the badges on their own websites, and they had to remain clear and recognisable at very small sizes. We realised the value of the badges when one organisation featured our badge which we'd awarded them in their annual printed catalogue. I then adapted the designs to work equally well in print.
As the company expanded, badges were created for four related brands: Homeschool.com, A to Z Homeschooling, Secular Homeschooling and Let’s Homeschool High School.
Although these brands were eventually brought together again, the project remained a rewarding exercise in creating meaningful recognition and strengthening a passionate community.
The last image is an example of one of the badges and it's evolution over the years, I designed the badges from 2011 till 2024
